As the number of emergency calls continues to rise year on year, Nine Lives is making a half hour film about Ambulances for Channel 4’s Dispatches strand which will examine the current pressures on the ambulance service, the consequences for staff and patients, and look at initiatives to improve the service. My research led me to the tragic case of Stephanie. One of the major issues in the case was the response time of the ambulance. The case was an extremely sad one, and unfortunately one of many where people have had to wait for extended periods of time for ambulance assistance.
